Still, the narrator and the governmental forces want to create a document to write down all the events and to make sure something similar will never take place again.įrom the beginning of the novel, the government is harshly criticized for trying to cover up what really happened. According to the narrator, the world is not in the post-pandemic stage and the spread of the virus which turns humans into zombies is contained. The novel starts with a prologue in which the purpose of the writing is revealed. World War Zis probably one of his best-known novels and this is because the novel was adapted into a very popular film starring Brad Pitt.
